    It was a fun ride...

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been all that good as far as keeping this Space updated. I deliberately held off doing anything new since I knew I would be creating a new blog elsewhere. Well, the transition has now taken place and my new "home" is now located at http://therabiesblog.blogspot.com/. The Rabies Blog is something I've wanted to do for a while and I hope that you will all come and visit me there.

Thanks to everyone who has come by over the past year and read my rantings and posted your thoughts. I hope to see all of you in the new spot!

    Thread missing?

Has anybody else noticed that the original Xbox forum thread for Space bloggers has disappeared? I checked around on a few different Spaces, but I didn’t see any posts regarding this. If anyone has any insight on this, please drop a comment here. I also plan on contacting the forum mods to see why it was removed.

I’m really bummed about this because it was that thread that got me started writing in the first place. I doubt I would be doing what I am if I had never started my own gaming Space. Oh well. It was a pretty good run we had going there.

In the meantime, I’ve been playing GoW as much as I can and I still love this game! I will admit that I’m no good on LIVE, but that’s nothing new, lol. This game looks great and plays great.

I’m looking forward to picking up COD3 as well as Viva Pinata. These games looked great at the New York show and I can’t wait to get my hands on ‘em!

As far as Totally360 goes, you may have noticed that I added an RSS headline feed to the Space here. We’ve been getting some really great news stories lately and it’s impossible to update this site with all of it, so I thought I would give the RSS feed a try. I hope everyone gets some use out of it J

Lastly, the latest episode of The Rabies Shot is now available for download and I invite you all to check it out. In an effort to make it easy, here is the direct link to the show! As always, your feedback is welcome regarding the podcast, the Totally360 website and the Space! Once again, thanks for stopping by!

Hey folks. Thanks for the feedback on the pictures. I'm really glad to hear that everyone is enjoying them.

I wanted to let you all know that Episode 11 of The Rabies Shot is now available at Feedburner and iTunes. I dedicated the entire show to the Match Made in Hell event and finally put to words what the experience of playing Gears of War was like.

Enjoy the show and as always, feedback is more than welcome!

    Hands-on with Gears of War

Thanks to an invitation from Larry (Major Nelson) Hryb, I was able to join him and the 300 or so winners of the Match Made in Hell contest at Six Flags New England last night! I was finally able to meet Major face to face (he's a great guy, BTW), the band Megadeth performed a mini-concert including the brand new tune "Gears of War" PLUS got a chance to play the most anticipated game for the Xbox 360 console GEARS OF WAR!!

I will be detailing the entire event in the next episode of The Rabies Shot, but I will say that the game is unreal!! I'll post here when the show is ready to download.

In the meantime, I have posted pictures from the event on Flickr. Go here to read the story and see the pictures!

Great interview with one of the Space bloggers

Hi everybody! I want to say thanks again to our very own Robert Bowling aka Fourzerotwo for appearing with me on this weeks episode of The Rabies Shot podcast. We had a great conversation regarding the success of Call of Duty 2 including the outstanding emphasis that he and Infinity Ward put on the community of gamers surrounding the title. Not only do we talk about their successful Call of Duty 2 Xbox All-Nighter Community Party, Robert also reveals information regarding some new upcoming events! The interview was great and I welcome you all to check it out.

I have to say that guests like him make all of the work that goes into the show worthwhile. I was up until 4:30 am last night editing the show (and uploading it, updating the RSS feed, pinging the websites, etc) because I wanted to get the show out there for everyone to hear.
BTW, if you're interested in joining me on a future episode, we have set up an email address for gamers to submit their infomation. All the details can be found here.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the show. The audience has been growing week after week and it's all because of you!

    Episode 6 is live

I bet you all were wondering why I hadn’t mentioned anything about the podcast yet this week. Wernt ‘cha?

*NOTE: Due to some of the issues I had with iTunes last week, current subscribers MAY need to unsubscribe and then re-subscribe to the podcast in order to download this episode**

As always I thank you for taking the time to support the show J

    Dead Rising in my possesion

My wife surprised me and picked up Dead Rising yesterday! Needless to say I was pumped when she gave it to me. I had rented it when it first came out and made my mind up that it was a game I was definately going to buy.

When I had rented it, I really didn't focus a lot on the mission objectives, instead opting to play a more open "death and destruction fest". Now I need to restart the game and actually pay attention to what I'm supposed to be doing. I did realize during my first experience just how hard accomplishing the individual missions really is.

If you haven't tried this game, I highly recommend it. If you already own it, I'd love to hear what you think.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

    iTunes issues corrected

Just a quick note to let everyone know that the podcast issues on iTunes should now all be corrected.

If you have subscribed to the show already on iTunes, you will probably need to unsubscribe and then resubscribe in order for the fix to take place. Thanks for your patience on this :)

Holy cow, he isn't talking about his podcast!!

That's right folks. Today it's just about the games!

Here's a question: Why has a game that cost me $0.00 suddenly taken me completly away from the more than $400.00 worth of retail games sitting on my gaming shelf? I can't explain it myself, but Texas Hold 'em has become such a distraction from my regular titles that I find it facinating. I've only played in 3 online tournaments so far, but I came in 1st twice and 3rd once. Maybe that's a part of it. Sort of a gambling addiction without the real $. Single player is cool too with it's scenario's and tourneys. I still say this one is worth paying the MS points for if you didn't get it when it was free.

Madden NFL 07 is pretty cool too. I'm starting to get into the Superstar mode and, while I found it tough to get used to the camera angles at first, as I have adjusted I've come to enjoy it a lot.
Lastly I want to mention F.E.A.R. There is a demo of this on my latest OXM disc and (shuddering as he types) it looks GOOOOOOOD! When this one hits the streets, it's gonna sell a ton! This could be the sleeper hit that Gears and Halo 3 never saw coming.
I have a few new reviews lined up for the website that I will let everyone know about when they are confirmed. Other news to come as well regarding the other projects that I'm involved in.

    Until then...Texas Hold 'em, anyone??

    Move over Uno...

I just wrapped up a 3 hour session of the new Texas Hold 'em and all I have to say is WOW! The game is great (except for a couple of minor quirks) and very well done. What amazed me even more was the fact that I happened to look down my Friends List as I was signing out, and just about everyone that was online was playing this game. Popular? I think so.

If you haven't grabbed it yet, remember that the clock is running if you want to take advantage of it's current free status.

I also want to say thanks to everyone that sent me an invite to play tonight. I was playing a game that had been organized before I signed on, but I will make sure to join up with the rest on another night.

The Rabies Shot is on iTunes

Hey everybody. The podcast was just approved by iTunes and is available for subscription now.

Sorry I havn't posted much recently. The show and the website have been really filling all of my spare time. I have, however, found a little bit of time to play Dead Rising which I rented. The game is pretty cool. Carnage Central. Graphics are awesome and it's just a fun game. Not much of a review, but I'm beat.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the show. I will continue to try and improve it as time goes on.

Soft Serve event coming to a city near you!

Hi folks. Rockstar Games is currently sponsoring an event entitled Soft Serve which features a number of different artists and musicians displaying their artwork as well as live demonstrations and music. Rockstar Games was kind enough to extend an invitation to me to attend the event this Sunday the 13th at Bodega, 6 Clearway St, Boston MA (www.bdgastore.com).  If anyone is going to be in the Boston area, please stop by and say Hi. For a complete list of the rest of the tour stops, check out www.softservetour.com. The full story AND press release from Rockstar Games can be found on Totally360.com right here.

I would also like to thank everyone who has taken the time to download the latest episode of The Rabies Shot. I still welcome as much feedback about the show as possible. I really want the show to succeed, so hearing what the community thinks of it is very important to me. I want to be able to provide a good, quality show so I welcome all feedback (bad or good) so that I can continue to improve the show each week. Since I'm only up to the second episode, I expect that it will need some more refining before it gets to the level I hope for. I have some big plans for the show as it continues to mature and I look forward to bringing them to the community for your enjoyment.
Please feel free to spread the news about the show so that as many people within the community can share in it's development :) Thanks!

The Rabies Shot Episode Two is now available

First off I want to thank everyone who took the time to download the debut edition of The Rabies Shot. I received a bit of feedback regarding the show, most of it being sort of lukewarm.

After the first few comments I received, I went back and listened to the show and realized that my critics were right on the mark. The show quality was lackluster and should have been much better, especially for it's debut.

This weeks show should be a big improvement over last weeks and I invite everyone to check it out and let me know what you think. Don't be afraid to post what you think since because if I am going to improve the show week to week, I need to know what is “wrong” as well as what is right.

BTW, thanks ICandee for the kind comments. I'm sure you held back a bit, and I hope that this weeks effort will be even more enjoyable for ya!!
